‘Iron Sharpens Iron’
A Foundational Course in Formation for Men
This course provides a basic formation for men by facilitating their intellectual, spiritual, and ethical development from the resources of the Western Tradition.
The aim of the course is to empower men to best live their lives in the service of those entrusted to their care, as husbands and fathers, and as builders of Irish society, now and into the future.
No prior education and formation is required, only a disposition and desire to enter into the Western Tradition and receive from its wealth.
Dates
Saturday, October 26th, & Saturday November 7th.
Location
Moyne Park, Abbeyknockmoy, Tuam, Co. Galway.
Materials
The participants will be provided with reading material containing selected extracts of seminal texts of the recent tradition so that they can continue to revisit the themes discussed throughout the two days together, so that they may benefit from the topics explored into the future.
Structure
The course takes place over the course of two days (over two separate Saturdays), which will largely follow the same structure, including Mass and prayer, lectures (both theoretical and practical), time for discussion and analysis, meals and fraternity, activity and rest.
